What is the secret to the best coffee?
There is no doubt that you can get decent coffee beans anywhere. But what makes for even better coffee? we call it our Four Roses Coffee Promise. We follow a simple set of rules that makes a massive difference between the ordinary coffee you get from the store to the high-quality and fresh coffee you get from us.
1. Freshness Guaranteed
Our first promise is to make sure that we only source out the freshest beans for our customers. While green coffee beans can last up to several months, unlike roasted coffee, we never wait that long before buying our coffee beans. Our standard practice is to buy only green beans harvested within the last few months of purchase. This guarantees that you are getting the freshest quality coffee.
2. Quality Control
Once we get our green coffee, we do a complete inspection of the coffee to ensure that what we order is what we got, and that is freshly harvested coffee. Before every roast we do, we inspect each batch of coffee and remove any undesirable coffee beans. Not only do we do a complete visual inspection, but we also do the Four Roses smell inspection. When we smell the green beans, we look for the typical earthly, grassy green bean aroma. If the coffee has any visual or odor concerns, we DO NOT use those coffee beans.
3. Small Batch Roasting
We roast all of our coffee in small batches. This helps us take better control over the coffee roasting process. This also helps us ensure that all coffee beans are roasted perfectly and to the right temperature. With small-batch roasting, we have better control over our roaster's temp and airflow, allowing for a perfect roast each time.
4. Roast To Order
As we mentioned above, green beans can last a lot longer than roasted coffee. Our last promise is that we never roast in large batches and wait for your order. When you order, we roast. This ensures that you get the freshest coffee you can get. When you buy your coffee from the store, you never know how long it has been sitting. Sometimes, it is several weeks that have passed before you get that bag of coffee, and while it may be okay, it is not the freshest quality coffee you deserve.
It is these rules, these promises, that set us apart from other coffee roasters. We take our coffee roasting seriously and never cut corners for profit.
